make me weak in the knees, and my eyes "leak a little" (that's what addison used to say when he was trying not to cry...his eyes were just leaking). I really love girly stuff and I had always imagined I would have two little girls of my own to sew with, cook with, curl their hair....instead I have the most wonderful two boys a momma could ask for. so sweet, so adventuresome, and sometimes they will indulge me and bake cookies, or sew a project, and I love the world of boys they have opened my eyes to....but I also love when I get to play dress up with a little one who wears pink. It is a nice break from bugs, and sports, and all things boyish.

I don't normally post personal family stuff on this blog...but keeping up with two blogs isn't going so well for me. summer is here....I'm enjoying every minute of it. Love having my boys home. Love being home long enough to clean my house. Love taking trips and vacations. I love having time to learn new things. Make new recipes. Play. I love summer.

Did you know there's a website where you can practice using an SLR camera? Adjust lighting, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and distance settings to see what happens to your photos. It is a pretty neat way to immediately see how each setting works with the others.

what to wear

people ask me all the time what they should wear for their family photo sessions. i tell them to think "coordination" more than "matching". think of color schemes that go well together. pick one child's outfit that has 3 or 4 colors to it and then put everyone else in the family in a solid color. don't forget accessories and layers...headbands/bows, vests/jackets, necklaces and hats. and if shoes stump you...then, don't wear any, i love barefoot photos. but one thing is for sure, everyone's style and personality should come through. family pictures doesn't have to mean matching dresses or suits and ties. relaxed, casual clothes photograph great because people feel comfortable. hope this helps, pictures should be fun....not stressful!

i love photographing these two....though, both Crystal and I both get a good workout. we have so much fun trying different stuff and chasing them around. we always laugh a lot, and sweat just as much!

and since Christmas is over, I can share these super cute xmas cards....I love something different and unique!

and we printed these with a magnetic back, so they could be displayed all year through!

such a fun, funny shoot. these boys could throw the limes and oranges faster than we could roll them back. and Hunter made the funniest faces every time he tasted the crush. I love this shot where Heath is checking out Hunter's drink....somehow whatever brother has, must be better!
